A Wiki for Every Course

September 10, 2007. Looking for a quick and easy way to build a dynamic online resource for your class? You might want to try a wiki -- a collaborative website in which class members can easily edit and connect documents and media.

Launching this fall, Columbia's Wikispaces provide a wiki site for any interested course section. In this collaborative space, faculty and students can create pages, add links to online resources, organize group projects, and work on assignments. Wikispaces uses familiar word processor-style editing tools that make it easy to add and edit text and images and has simple integration with many Web 2.0 services, such as Google Docs and YouTube.

More than 40 Wikispaces have already been activated for courses so far.

Instructors interested in learning more about Columbia Wikispaces or seeking to activate a course wiki site should visit https://www.wikispaces.columbia.edu.
