November 21, 2008. Columbia on iTunes U, launched by CCNMTL in September 2008, has already become a hit. In recent weeks, Columbia podcasts have earned two notable spots on Apple's iTunes U storefront. The Artistry of "Pops": Louis Armstrong at 100, a podcast provided by Columbia's Center for Jazz Studies, reached the top of the download charts on iTunes U last week. The podcast was downloaded nearly 11,000 times in two weeks after being featured in an Apple Education article. In addition, Columbia's Harlem Digital Archive podcast has been posted on Apple's iTunes U homepage as a highlighted item. This podcast includes lectures from Columbia professor Manning Marable's 2007 course, Harlem's Heritage. For more information or to download Columbia podcasts, please visit Columbia on iTunes U.
