The CourseWorks sections can be enabled or disabled by the instructor at any time during the semester; any content added to sections, whether enabled or disabled, is retained in the system unless it is manually deleted by a course member who has edit access. Below is a list of sections and their corresponding QuickStart Guides (in PDF):

  • Introduction - holds a basic course description and instructor contact information.
  • Syllabus (PDF) - a space for a more detailed (daily, weekly, monthly, or topical) listing of what will happen during class sessions.
  • Syl_all (PDF) - when using Syl_all, students will see a one-page syllabus rather than links to individual sessions.
  • All Settings (PDF) - enable/disable sections, add/remove class members, create groups, etc.
  • Discussion Board (PDF) - a space where students can respond to instructor's questions or start their own online discussion.
  • Class Files (PDF) - a space with folders to hold and organize all types of digital documents.

  • Lectures - a series of folders for lecture notes, videos, or audio recordings.
  • Assignments - a series of folders for documents, descriptions, and requirements for assignments.
