This simulation has been taught for
many years in this course by Professor Bower using paper, note cards, and a
simple data storage program. This digital version of simulation was developed
using Macromedia Director with data created by the mapping program Surfer. Data
can be collected at ten foot intervals anywhere on the site map. Data is collected
from one or more of 39 data maps, which are color-coded to correspond to values
for each data type. For example, one layer contains all the information about
the depth to the bedrock under the surface. Other layers contain information
about certain types of contamination at various depths.
