Biography: Tom Fiedler

Tom Fiedler, a veteran Miami Herald reporter and editor, became executive editor and vice president in 2001. He worked at the Herald for over 30 years, moving up from investigative reporter to political columnist, then editorial page editor and finally executive editor.

Fiedler received the Society of Professional Journalists' top award for his coverage of the 1988 presidential election. In 1991, he contributed to a Miami Herald series on a religious cult; the series won a Pulitzer Prize.
