Technical Requirements

Operating Systems: Windows 2000 or higher; Mac OS X (10.1 or higher)
Display: 1024 x 768 pixel resolution or higher recommended; 800x600 pixels resolution minimum
Network Connection: The recommended connection is broadband connection (LAN, DSL, or cable modem). Accessing video content via dial-up modem will produce long download times.
Browsers: enable Javascript
Windows: Internet Explorer 6 or later, Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape 7 or later.
Mac OS: Safari, Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape 7 or later. Internet Explorer 5.1, Netscape 4.x and Netscape 6 are not supported for this application
Plug-ins: Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download Acrobat Reader.
VirTechs uses QuickTime Video - Version 6 or later

QuickTime Help

QuickTime 7 or later is required to view the videos in VirTechs. Please check your computer for this software and its version, and if necessary download a free version of QuickTime from Apple's QuickTime Web site. Please refer to the following pages to learn more about QuickTime and test your player:

Full-screen video
One of the options provided is to have the video take over your screen. Full-screen mode is useful for presentations, as the rest of your desktop is hidden. Here are some important key sequences when using full-screen video:

  • Video start/stop toggle: space bar
  • Exit full-screen mode: esc key

Podcast Help

You will need iTunes to subscribe to the VirTechs video podcast. Download the free iTunes software here. You can choose to view the video podcast on your PC/Mac using this software or you can set your iPod preferences to copy the podcasts from iTunes to your iPod.

Automatically Subscribe

Subscribe to video podcast.
Click the icon above to subscribe to the VirTechs podcast. If this is the frst time you are automatically subscribing to an iTumes podcast this will launch an “External Protocol Request” box. Check the option which says “Remember this for all links of this type”; then click the “Launch Application” button. This should be the only time you will have to do this. To see all the episodes, click the arrow next to the podcast title so that it points downwards.

Manually Subscribe

In iTunes, click the "Podcasts" menu item on the left, then on the top menu, go to "Advanced" and choose "Subscribe to Podcast." In the window, paste the web address below. The URL for this podcast is:
