Brian guides the development of audio and video technologies that are used used to publish academic media to online course platforms and custom multimedia tools at Columbia University. He is the project manager of Columbia’s campus iTunes U and YouTube programs, where he coordinates content partnerships across all Columbia schools. He has also served as lead producer of online video content and related features for dozens of web-based educational tools, including “Film Language Glossary,” which combines film clips and audio commentary provided by film scholars, and a mobile prototype for “Mapping the African American Past,” which was featured in the 2009 New Media Consortium Horizon Report.
With ten years experience in audio-visual educational technology emphasizing interactive video for teaching and learning purposes, Brian often participates in academic technology communities, including the Opencast Project, and is an active participant in working groups relating to media management, media metadata, and distribution.
Brian earned a B.A. in psychology from Columbia University, where he also worked as a research assistant and independent researcher in Columbia’s department of psychology, studying social cognition and motivation.
