Exercises

The Exercises tab links to a series of seven exercises. The first exercise is exercise 1. If you have complete this exercise you can use the menu on the left side of the screen to toggle between exercises. For each exercise you must enter your full name and email address.

Each exercise will require you to download at least one dataset. Each dataset is generated randomly. Once you click to download the dataset, it will automatically open in Microsoft Excel.

You should save the dataset before working with it. You will need to complete the exercise all at once. You can not close the browser window and return because you will lose the work you entered and you will get a different set of data each time you return to an exercise.

Some exercises will contain graphs of the distributions. You should view the graphs after looking at the accompanying dataset.

You complete an exercise by entering in your name and email address, answering the questions and click the button labeled "submit answers to instructor." This will send your answers to your instructor and you will receive an email confirming that your answers were sent.

Case Study

The Case Study tab links to the case study that is currently in development.

Surveys

The virtual surveys are simply health questionnaires. They are currently available in .pdf format.

Systems Requirements

The following software, hardware, plug-ins and network connection are required to experience this site:

Browser: Netscape versions 4.7 and above or Internet Explorer versions 4.x or later. Your browser must have JavaScript enabled.

Network Connection: The recommended minimum connection is 56K modem with throughput of 44 Kbps or more. A faster connection is suggested. Access to the Cost Benefit Analysis Learning Modules from on campus machine is ideal.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 5: You will need the plugin and/or application to view the virtual surveys. Download the Acrobat Reader.
