The Educational Multimedia Case Constructor (EMCC) is a resource for exploring case studies on science education in urban schools. The cases are designed to guide you through multimedia source materials, to stimulate critical thinking through case analyses, and to help you develop ideas for your own teaching practice.
EMCC is comprised of three primary components that are being launched in phases. The Case Library, a resource for browsing case studies, is available now. The Case Workspace, to be released in Spring 2005, will allow you to share your reflections on cases with other students. The Case Builder, to be launched in Summer 2005, will allow advanced users to create and upload new cases for analysis by others.
EMCC is a collaborative effort by the Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL) and Angela Calabrese Barton, Associate Professor of Science Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
