Tool Kit 3 (TK3)
Interdisciplinary (CU)
Status: In-Progress; Oversight: FM

CCNMTL is working to introduce TK3 to Columbia faculty as an effective tool for teaching and learning. TK3 is a multimedia publishing toolset that enables the user to author, edit, and produce high quality digital documents. Beginning with a primary text composition, the user can build a robust multimedia environment by adding image, audio, and video annotations. The user has complete control over the layout and design of these annotations. Once a user finishes authoring a TK3 document, she can publish a finished version that can be distributed to other TK3 users. The TK3 Reader allows each user to view published TK3 documents and to make his or her own annotations to their contents. The reader annotations do not, however, alter the contents of the original documents. The TK3 Reader also includes a notebook which allows users to collect their favorite selections from the document.
