During his lifetime Malcolm was brutally honest and consistently revealed aspects about himself that proved instructive for others. This was in many ways the real revolution because through his revelations, he called for African Americans to change the way they thought about themselves in order to be politically informed about their own interests and ultimately, to dismantle the institution of racism. In his ways of thinking and speaking, Malcolm validated the experiences of others impacted by racism. Ultimately, he urged those of African descent to become a unified part of the solution, one of the most important aspects of his historical legacy. -- EB
