Arthur Flegnheimer aka "Dutch Schultz"(b.Aug.6,1902, Bronx, NY; d.Oct 23, 1935, Newark, NJ). A violent gang leader involved in bootlegging, breweries, speakeasies, gang wars, and policy (numbers) rackets in the Bronx and parts of Manhattan. In the 1930s Schultz attempted to take over the Harlem numbers industry run by Madame Stephanie "The Queen" St. Clair. Her bodyguards and hired guns included Raymond Blue and Elsworth "Bumpy" Johnson. The story goes that in 1932 there was a war between St. Clair and Schultz over the numbers industry. Bumpy protected St. Claire and garnered the support of gang leader Charles "Lucky" Luciano who had Schultz killed and then bankrolled Bumpy as he took over the Harlem numbers racket.
