Sister Clara Muhammad

Clara Belle Evans was born in Wenona, Georgia in 1899. She and Elijah Poole were married in 1919. Clara Muhammad was very active in and devoted to the Nation of Islam. During Elijah Muhammad's time in prison for draft evasion, Clara acted as a liaison between the Nation and the Minister. She and Elijah had eight children together. She died of stomach cancer on August 12, 1972
