Uline Arena

Later known as the Washington Coliseum, the Uline Arena was built in 1941. The arena is used for figure skating, wrestling, ballet, basketball, hockey, karate, politics, etc.Uline sold tickets to only white patrons, except for boxing matches until 1948. After pickets and boycotts the arena was finally desegregated. In 1959 Elijah Muhammad spoke to an audience of 10,000 at Uline, following a tradition of political activity at the arena.
