Biography: Doreen Weisenhaus

Doreen Weisenhaus was director of the Media Law Project and assistant professor at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre of Hong Kong University, which she joined in 2000. She taught media law and ethics. Before that, she worked as city editor of the New York Times , first legal editor of the New York Times Magazine , and editor-in-chief of the National Law Journal .

Earlier, Weisenhaus served as a prosecutor in New York City, a television news producer in Chicago, and a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal . She holds a law degree from Northwestern University and a BS from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern. She is the author of Hong Kong Media Law: A Guide for Journalists and Media Professionals (2007).
