Mark Solazzo

Mark Solazzo was executive vice president and chief operating officer of North Shore-LIJ Health System. He was responsible for day-to-day operations of the health system, which consisted of 16 hospitals, more than 300 ambulatory care sites and 46,000 employees. Solazzo had worked at North Shore-LIJ since 1995. Before joining the company, Solazzo had a 15-year career at the New York State Department of Social Services. He received Harvard University's Innovations in Government Award for his work on the department's Child Assistance Program. Solazzo also taught graduatelevel health management courses as an adjunct professor at St. Joseph's College. He held an MBA in health systems management from Union College.
