General Principles (click to view principles list)
1. What are my goals?
2. How does climate matter to me?
3. What choices do I have to respond to climate forecasts?
4. What is the climate going to be like?
5. What are the potential impacts of climate on me, given a climate forecast?
6. What decisions should I use to increase the odds of an outcome that is preferred?

Now that you have compiled all the information to construct your scenarios, or decision trees, you need to decide which pathway to follow. Remember that as an event unfolds, there may be additional decisions to make along the way. Certain options can be left open until more information arrives, and it is useful to have identified these contingencies early on in the process. Periodically, you will want to revisit the scenario-building exercise, since probabilities of outcomes will shift as you enter the rainy season.
