Biography: Louis Wiley

Louis Wiley has worked to create and supervise documentary programs since the late 1980s. A graduate of Yale University and Georgetown Law School, Wiley began his career in 1970 at WGBH, Boston’s public television station. Over the years, he worked on local and national public affairs, history and cultural programs. He also served as unofficial advisor on controversial matters and, at management’s request, drafted two WGBH documents: Guidelines on Journalistic Standards and Practices for National Programming , and a Web Code of Best Practices .

As executive editor for Frontline, Wiley is responsible for monitoring the story selection process, conducting an editorial review of each program, and assessing all matters that could have an impact on the editorial integrity of the series.
