Biography: James Chapman


Dr. James P. Chapman is the interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Kentucky State University . He served for 27 years at the University of Kentucky in a number of positions, including seven as assistant chancellor for the Lexington Campus. Dr. Chapman has been president of Shawnee State University (one of Ohio 's 13 public universities), provost of the University of Alaska-Anchorage , and interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Eastern Kentucky University . He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education, a master’s in Classical Languages and Literature, and a master’s in College Student Personnel from Indiana University .
