Image Galleries Using Highslide

Highslide is an open source JavaScript multimedia viewer and popup replacement. Similar to Highcharts, featured earlier this month, this library requires no plugins to work. It supports a range of content types such as text, images, Flash, video clips, iframes and AJAX content.

Highslide opens image and media galleries within an active browser window without resorting to pop-up windows. The configuration options are well documented and rife with examples on its tutorial and reference pages.

Users can also create their own Highslide galleries without editing code. The Highslide Editor is a graphical user interface that allows non-programmers to customize galleries and download the code for use on their websites.

Highslide is free for educational and non-profit uses. A range of fees apply for it use on commercial sites.
