In recognition of the October 6, 2014 event at Teachers College celebrating the life of Maxine Greene, we share this wonderful video from our archives. Speaking at the event, TC president Susan Furhman said, "Maxine will forever be one of the greatest figures in Teachers College's history."

Recorded in 2002, the video is an open letter to new teachers: "To begin is to act with a sense of agency" she urges new teachers dealing with new beginnings.
