cutour.jpg June 15, 2010. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions recently released the mobile version of the Columbia Campus Tour, enabling visitors to take a self-guided tour of the Morningside campus with the use of a smartphone. The tour, originally available as a podcast, was adapted to a mobile web application by CCNMTL as part of the Center's continuing exploration of mobile platforms.

The tour is narrated by students who explain the historic architecture and modern-day uses of 25 sites on Columbia's campus. Images of each featured location also appear in the mobile version of the tour alongside informational text. While the Undergraduate Office of Admissions offers weekday tours throughout the semester, the new mobile application is especially useful for visitors to explore Columbia at anytime. Try out the Columbia Campus Tour mobile application by visiting http://tiny.cc/cutour on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android web browser. Select the "+" icon at the bottom of the screen, and then select "Add to Home Screen." For complete details visit: http://www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/admissions/visiting.
