Perhaps for this reason, technologically sophisticated inquiry-based learning projects are becoming more and more common. Lying beneath the surface, however, are complicated quesstions about how to fund these projects, who owns them, and whether they might be commercialized. This article defines inquiry-based learning and explores the role technology has to play in it, and the issues that surround it, by highlighting new and established projects that are changing the way students learn.
