The Educational Multimedia Case Constructor (EMCC) is a web-based learning environment designed to complement Urban Science Education courses at Teachers College, Columbia University. EMCC was developed by CCNMTL in partnership with Angela Calabrese Barton, Associate Professor of Science Education.
EMCC is comprised of three primary components: a case workspace, a media library, and a case builder. The environment provides education students with opportunities to observe authentic classroom interactions and "get to know" urban youth, to analyze cases and respond to questions, and to develop new ideas about teaching and learning based on these activities.
