Khadija Ismayilova was an Azerbaijani investigative journalist and radio host for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. She held a degree in philology from Baku State University, and worked variously for the Russian-language newspaper Zerkalo, the English-language Caspian Business News, and Voice of America. In 2008, RFE/RL hired her as Baku bureau chief. She stepped down in 2010 to focus on reporting, although she continued as host of the popular Internet radio program After Work .
