According to a major recent study by the Babson Survey Research Group, online learning is growing at a rate of about ten times that of overall enrollments in colleges and universities.

It also reveals the opinions of chief academic officers regarding their views on the extent to which online learning is part of the overall strategy for and vision of their respective universities. Importantly, the research indicates that the majority of their perceptions about assessment outcomes are either about the same as or superior to face-to-face instruction.
