February 3, 2009. CCNMTL is partnering with the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy, the Center for Organizational Innovation, and The Alliance Program to bring renowned scholars Yochai Benkler from Harvard, Bruno Latour from Sciences Po, and Paul Starr from Princeton to Columbia University to discuss how the dynamics of public controversies are changing as the communications environment is increasingly influenced by social, technical, and economic transformations.
The event, The Changing Dynamics of Public Controversies, takes place on Saturday, February 7, in Butler Library. CCNMTL executive director, Frank Moretti, will respond to Yochai Benkler’s lecture ‘Participation and Power in the Networked Public Sphere’ and will moderate a discussion that focuses on the technical influence on the communications environment.
