June 13, 2008. The HIV Intervention Science Training Program (HISTP) at Columbia University introduced its second cohort of trainees and mentors to the HISTPCommons website during a week-long institute from June 9–13, 2008. HISTP is a national mentorship program aimed at increasing the number of racial and ethnic minority HIV intervention researchers receiving grants from federal agencies. Developed to help facilitate the program, HISTPCommons is a collaborative web-based environment created by CCNMTL to help researchers create proposals for pilot interventions and grant submissions, receive feedback from mentors, and document professional growth.

The three-year study and mentorship program is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and led by Drs. Nabila El-Bassel and Elwin Wu of the Columbia University School of Social Work.
