The Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL) invites faculty, staff, and teaching assistants from Columbia University and affiliates to join thoughtful conversations about the intersection of technology and teaching in the new rewirED series.
At each session CCNMTL staff - who are experts on pedagogy and technology - and attendees will look at a problem that occurs when technology and teaching merge. CCNMTL staff will present research, show the best tools and how to incorporate them into courses at Columbia, bring up challenges, and encourage discussion.
The first rewirED session, “Lectures That Stick: Cognitive Theories for Better Presentations,” will be Thursday, September 27 at 3:00pm in Butler Library, Room 523. Future sessions will take place Thursdays throughout the Fall semester on the Morningside campus; three workshops, to be announced, will be offered at CCNMTL’s CUMC location. Topics will include classroom discourse, collaboration, multimedia annotation, and audience response systems.
A full schedule and registration information is available on the rewirED website.
