March 25, 2010. The University Seminars on New Media Teaching and Learning hosted by CCNMTL resume this month with a new theme that focuses on global health and technology. In an effort to develop a strategy for bringing Columbia's digital educational resources and energies to this emerging and important area, the University Seminars will engage in a dialogue with Columbia stakeholders and external experts working on the intersections of global health and technology.
The first seminar, "Achieving International Health Objectives with New Media and Technology at Columbia's Earth Institute," will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 1:00PM - 2:30PM in 523 Butler Library. In this seminar, Dr. Prabhjot Singh Dhadialla and Dr. Patricia Mechael of the Columbia University Earth Institute will discuss the historical progression of health systems and the role that new media and technology plays in helping to achieve international health objectives particularly as they relate to developing countries.
