February 22, 2005. The Columbia Daily Spectator published an article describing the newly launched Autobiography of Malcolm X MSE and the three-year collaboration between CCNMTL and the Center for Contemporary Black History. Professor Manning Marable introduced the project to artists, scholars, and students gathered in Earl Hall to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Malcolm X's assassination.
