Biography: Richard Bergenheim

Richard Bergenheim became editor of the Christian Science Monitor in May 2005. From 1988–94, Bergenheim was a member of the Christian Science Board of Directors. In that capacity, he served as editor-in-chief of the Christian Science Publishing Society, and worked closely with the editor of the Monitor to set strategy and oversee editorial quality. In June 2008, he left his position as Monitor editor to become president of the Christian Science Church.

A 1970 graduate of Principia College in Elsah, Ill., Bergenheim held a master’s degree from the Shakespeare Institute at England’s University of Birmingham. He passed away in July 2008.
