CCNMTL would like to welcome you to visit the podcasting station in our Faculty Support Lab in Butler Library room 204. The podcasting station contains a wide variety of software and equipment that can be freely used by faculty and instructors who are creating media for their courses. The computer station (OS X or Windows) comes equipped with a microphone for high-quality voice recordings and headphones for careful audio and video editing.

ProfCast: ProfCast is a versatile, yet simple-to-use tool for recording presentations slides for creating enhanced podcasts.

  • PowerPoint or Keynote software
  • Microphone

ProfCast Example:

ScreenFlow: Capture the contents of your entire desktop at the same time as video camera feed, microphone, and computer's audio. ScreenFlow's sophisticated editing tools allow you to create incredible screencasts in a timely manner. The finished result is a QuickTime movie, ready for publishing to your website or blog.

VoiceThread: This web-based software is great for group conversations conducted online around images, documents, and videos. As their website states "With VoiceThread, group conversations are collected and shared in one place from anywhere in the world. A VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate pages and leave comments in 5 ways - using voice (with a mic or telephone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam). Share a VoiceThread with friends, students, and colleagues for them to record comments too. View the example we created below.

SlideShare: Using SlideShare it is very easy to take a PowerPoint presentation and convert it to an online slide show to share or for your own private use. You can also add audio to your presentation to make a webinar or to annotate a speech.
