Dr. Tariqul Islam

Dr. Tariqul Islam was a Bangladeshi physician and veteran public health administrator. In 2003, he became director of the HEALS study in Araihazar. Before joining HEALS, he spent three years with CARE-Bangladesh as project coordinator, reproductive health program. Islam had also worked at the Bangladesh NGO Gonoshasthaya Kendra for 13 years. GK taught him how to handle the politics and practicalities of public health.
