February 8, 2010. CCNMTL recently created a mobile web application for the Diana Center, Barnard's new student center that officially opened last Monday. The application adapts the self-guided audio tour of the Diana Center created by Barnard and narrated by the Diana's architects Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi into a mobile portal available for download on iPhones, iPod Touches, and Androids. Tracks in the audio tour are accompanied by images of the new student center and can be listened to in any order as you walk through the building. To add the app to your iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android visit this page https://barnard.edu/diana/tour in your mobile web browser, select the "+" icon at the bottom of the screen, and then select "Add to Home Screen."
The Diana Center mobile app is the third application officially launched by CCNMTL. The Mapping the African American Past mobile portal, launched in 2008, was the Center's first foray into mobile web application development followed by the Columbia on iTunes U mobile portal launched in August 2009. CCNMTL is working on expanding its portfolio of mobile applications so stay tuned for more updates.
