On July 1, 2013 Google Reader will officially shut down. Reader is the web's most popular RSS reader with a simple user interface, Google Reader will be missed by many. However there are two good alternatives out there:

• Feedly: Feedly gets closest to mirroring the Google Reader experience. It offers the same sort of compact view, similar shortcuts, tagging, favorites, and a mark-as-read functionality.
• Digg Reader: Digg has similar shortcuts as Google Reader, including the ability to save posts for later reading and sharing them on social networks. Also, it has a section that scans your feeds and ranks the most popular articles.
