Columbia on iTunes U is now comprised of two distinct channels: one channel is for open public media collections and the second channel for restricted media collections. Each channel is accessible through the Apple iTunes application.

Public iTunes UThe public Columbia on iTunes U channel is accessible by selecting the "Public iTunes U" button on http://itunes.columbia.edu. Alternatively, the Public iTunes channel can be found in the iTunes U section of the Apple iTunes Store, listed among the "Universities & Colleges" in this section.

The private Columbia on iTunes U channel is no longer available.

Accessing Columbia on iTunes U from iPhone or iPod Touch

mobile_portal.pngWith the release of the iTunes U app, iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users now have direct access to content on Columbia on iTunes U. Users on iOS devices can download the iTunes U app from Apple's App Store.

CCNMTL also offers a Columbia on iTunes U mobile portal, which enables users to link directly to Columbia's channels by visiting http://itunes.columbia.edu/m using their mobile Safari browser. The mobile portal, shown to the right, provides access to the same public and restricted channels.

Creating a Web App for Columbia on iTunes U

Users can also create a web app for their iOS home screen for easier access to the Columbia on iTunes U channels. To create a Columbia on iTunes U app, visit http://itunes.columbia.edu/m on your mobile Safari browser. Then select the bookmark icon at the bottom of the screen and select the "Add to Home Screen" option.
