The New Media Consortium has released its 2010 Horizon Report. This annual report seeks to identify emerging technologies likely to have a large impact on research and teaching and learning. The report is produced as a collaboration between the New Media Consortium and EDUCAUSE.

The Horizon Report 2010 identifies emerging technologies likely to enter the mainstream in learning-focused organizations within one to five years. Mobile computing and open content are singled out in this year's Time-to-Adoption: One Year of Less section. In the Two to Three Years section, electronic books and simple augmented reality are cited.

The executive summary also identifies key trends and critical challenges for colleges and universities. Besides the online version, copies of the report will be available for browsing in the Faculty Support Lab in 204 Butler Library.
