TED-Ed Lessons: Flip This Video

TED, for Technology, Entertainment, Design, has become one of the Internet's most recognized brands devoted to "ideas worth sharing." TED has spawned a number of initiatives, such as TEDTalks, TEDx, and TED Prize. Their newest initiative, TED-Ed, aims to be a source and library of "lessons worth sharing."

The TED-Ed video library will contain "carefully curated educational videos, many of which represent collaborations between talented educators and animators nominated through the TED-Ed platform." More importantly, the "flip this video" feature will allow anyone to create a customized lesson around a video. These lessons can be widely shared or limited to a specific group. The system includes the ability to track the lesson's impact.

The really cool thing is that the "flip this video" feature is not limited to videos from TED -Ed library. You can take any YouTube video and create a lesson to be featured on its own unique web page, alongside quizzes and questions, readings or other activities you choose to add to the lesson. Take the tour and create your first lesson.
