Greg Jonsson attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism. He interned at newspapers in Salt Lake City, UT, Orange County, CA, and Erie, PA, before joining the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in 2001. He worked in the evenings as a general assignment reporter for the newspaper.
